Jets coach won't confirm that QB asked out of Wildcat package. Terry McCormick
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan would neither confirm nor deny whether Tim Tebow asked out of the team's Wildcat package following Ryan's decision last week to start Greg McElroy over him Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
“He is a competitor and he was disappointed,” Ryan said via the New York Post. “He was disappointed that he was not named the starter. With that being said, I’m not going to get into private conversations that I have with players. It was my decision to use Jeremy Kerley in the Wildcat, without question.”
Multiple reports have indicated that Tebow told Ryan last week to take him out of the Wildcat package as he was upset at not getting the opportunity to start at quarterback.
