I understand what goes on in divisional games in the NFL. You play a team twice a season and things happen. However, after playing for Saints’ defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, I know he doesn’t coach his players to take blatant cheap shots.
Play physical? No question. But what we saw from Roman Harper yesterday in the Saints-Panthers game down in Charlotte was cheap after Steve Smith caught a TD pass from Cam Newton.
And he should get a Fed Ex letter from the league office in his locker this week.

One thing to go back and take a look at here…
When one of your teammates takes a cheap shot, you should protect him. That’s exactly what we saw from Newton and the rest of the offense in the end zone. Don’t let someone take a free shot at your guy.
