The plan for the New Orleans Saints is to keep linebacker Junior Galette an additional four more years.
According to a report from NFL.com, the Saints and Galette have agreed to a four-year extension that will keep him on the roster for six total years.
The deal is worth $41.5 million, with $23 million guaranteed.
A year ago, Galette signed a far less pricey three-year contract worth $6.3 million. Now Galette is getting his money's worth for the production he's been able to provide on the field.
In 2013, Galette tallied 40 tackles and 12 sacks, indicating the kind of player he's becoming for the New Orleans defense. The Saints are smart to lock him up now.
Galette took to his personal Twitter account after signing his extension.
"#WhoDatNation I Just signed My 4 Year Extension it's Official I will Retire A #Saint! #LOOKATGOD," he wrote.
