Saints become first club to sign a first-round pick

The New Orleans Saints became the first team to get a first-round draft pick in the fold, announcing this evening that Kenny Vaccaro has signed.

Vaccaro, the 15th overall pick from Texas, has his rookie contract done in advance of the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend. He is one of four draft picks the team signed today. The Saints also got deals done with offensive tackle Terron Armstead, a third-round pick, wide receiver Kenny Stills, a fifth-round pick, and linebacker Rufus Johnson, a sixth-round pick. That leaves Georgia defensive tackle John Jenkins, a third-round pick, as the team’s only remaining selection to sign.

Vaccaro was the first safety selected in the draft and he is the first safety New Orleans has drafted in the first round in club history.
