The New York Jets did not make an offer to Chris Ivory as a restricted free agent but they have offered the New Orleans Saints a trade proposal for the running back.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports the Jets have offered an undisclosed draft pick to New Orleans in exchange for Ivory, who signed his tender as an RFA on Friday.
Ivory will be paid $2.023 million under the terms of his one-year tender and the Jets were not willing to fork over a second-round draft pick for him by signing him to an offer sheet. They do have interest, though, and with the Saints have an excess of running backs, a deal would make sense.
