The New Orleans Saints held on Thursday night, completing their sweep of the Atlanta Falcons for a 17-13 victory.

Although it was a defensive battle, Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw a pair of touchdown passes.

The Saints improved to 9-2.

Tight end Jimmy Graham caught a 44-yard touchdown pass, celebrating with his trademark slam dunk that bent the goalpost when he hung on the crossbar. There was a short delay as a stadium worker climbed a ladder to straighten out the crossbar. Graham finished with five catches for 100 yards.

Atlanta lost for the fifth time in a row, assuring itself of its first losing season since 2007 as the Falcons were eliminated from the NFC South division race with five games left.

"We knew coming here was going to be a challenge," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "The two teams, the history, regardless of the record, it has always been a close game, and tonight was no exception."
