He'll have to beat out Chase Daniel for backup job Brad Biggs
The New Orleans Saints finally made official a deal that has been in the works for months when they announced that veteran quarterback Patrick Ramsey has signed a one-year contract.
Ramsey is expected to compete to be the backup for Drew Brees in training camp and will have to fend off competition from Chase Daniel, the former Missouri star who alternated between the 53-man roster and the practice squad last season.
Ramsey has starred in New Orleans before as a record setter at Tulane. But his NFL career hasn’t been as successful. A former first-round draft pick by the Washington Redskins, Ramsey has made only 24 career starts. He spent time with Detroit and Tennessee last season and has also made stops in Denver and with the New York Jets.
