New Orleans Saints rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro was placed on injured reserve with a fractured ankle.

Vaccaro had surgery Tuesday in Charlotte, N.C.

The first-round draft pick from Texas recorded 92 tackles, one sack, one interception, six pass deflections and one forced fumble.

The Saints promoted defensive back Terrence Frederick from the practice squad to the active roster.
