The New Orleans Saints have signed safety Jordan Pugh to back up at strong safety and play on special teams.
The 25-year-old expected to play special teams versus the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. He played against the Seahawks in the playoffs last season when he was with the Washington Redskins.
Pugh as played in 45 games over the past four seasons, including the playoffs, with the Redskins and Carolina Panthers.
A former Panthers sixth-round draft pick, Pugh has recorded 51 career tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a sack and five pass deflections. He intercepted Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning earlier this season.
