The New Orleans Saints announced that four players have been signed following tryouts at this past weekend's rookie minicamp.
The Saints signed wid receiver Steve Hull, outside linebacker Cheta Ozougwu, running back Derrick Strozier and offensive lineman Thomas Welch.
Hull was Illinois' best receiver in 2013, catching 59 passes for 933 yards and seven touchdowns. He converted to receiver his senior season after spending his first three years as a defensive back.
Ozougwu has been in the NFL the past two years and was a seventh-round pick by the Texans in 2011 draft. He's been with the Bears the past two seasons, appearing in nine games.
Strozier was a running back and cornerback with Tulane from 2009-2013, starting 11 games at the nickel back spot as a senior.
Welch is the oldest of the group, having been drafted in the seventh round by the Patriots in 2010. He's appeared in 27 career games with the Patriots, Rams and Bills, which includes one start.
In addition, the Saints waived/non-football illness nose tackle Brandon McCray and waived guard Micajah Reynolds.
