The New Orleans Saints plan to sign veteran center Jonathan Goodwin this week.

It's expected to be announced as soon as Tuesday.

Goodwin started for the San Francisco 49ers for the past three seasons.

Goodwin, 35, has started 86 consecutive games.

He played for the Saints previously for five seasons prior to joining the 49ers.

The 49ers drafted USC center Marcus Martin in the third round and signed center Daniel Kilgore to a contract extension.
