The 2014 NFL salary cap is expected to be higher than initially predicted.

Accoring to a report from ESPN, the salary cap will be approximately $130 million for the upcoming season. That's greater than the $126 million that was originally projected.

Part of that likely has to do with the NFL selling half of its Thursday Night Football package to CBS. Another reason is likely due to the NFL negotating future revenues with the NFLPA to this season.

This would be a five percent increase from last year's $123 million cap.
