QB benched vs. Cardinals but will be back in lineup vs. Jaguars. Terry McCormick
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan will stick with embattled Mark Sanchez as his starting quarterback this Sunday in Jacksonville, the team announced Wednesday.
Sanchez was benched in last week's game against Arizona after throwing three interceptions. He was replaced by Greg McElroy, who threw the game's only TD pass in a 7-6 victory over the Cardinals. Tim Tebow was inactive due to a rib injury.
Ryan will address the media later today on his decision to stick with Sanchez, as well as Tebow's condition. The Jets travel to Jacksonville this week - Tebow's hometown - and Ryan's choice of Sanchez as the starter is bound to do wonders for the attendance on Sunday in a matchup between two teams going nowhere.
