Seattle Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond has rejoined the active roster after completing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.

The Seahawks cut cornerback Perrish Cox to create a roster spot for Thurmond, who's been practicing this week under an NFL roster exemption.

“Walter had a great week,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told Seattle reporters. “He worked out really hard during the break for him and came back here really full speed and is ready to play.”

Thurmond has started three games, playing in 11 games, with 31 tackles, a sack, an interception and six pass deflections.

Byron Maxwell will start at cornerback again opposite Richard Sherman.
