The Seattle Seahawks received the bad news they have been fearing since yesterday.

Defensive end Chris Clemons, the team’s top pass rusher, will miss the remainder of the postseason and at least the entire offseason program as he has suffered a torn ACL and meniscus, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Clemons was injured in Sunday’s wild-card round victory over the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field. The Seahawks complained loudly about the condition of the playing surface after the game but the real issue for them right now is preparing for this week’s game at Atlanta without Clemons. Now, first-round draft pick Bruce Irvin is the team’s top pass rusher in a game in which the defense must create pressure on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.

Clemons is scheduled to see Dr. James Andrews, per the report.
