The Seattle Seahawks traded for quarterback Charlie Whitehurst as they begin preparations for the post-Matt Hasselbeck era. Apparently, they want to get a good look at a local option too as the Seahawks claimed quarterback Mike Reilly off waivers from the St. Louis Rams.
Reilly was a record-setting performer at Central Washington, passing for 12,448 yards and 118 touchdowns in college.
Reilly has bounced around already, originally signing in Pittsburgh last year as an undrafted free agent. He then went to Green Bay and eventually St. Louis. It could be the Seahawks are in need of another camp arm for this summer, but it’s a good opportunity for Reilly to make a positive impression.
