The Seattle Seahawks are considering bringing back veteran cornerback Antoine Winfield, coach Pete Carroll said today.
Winfield announced his retirement this summer, but the Seahawks need reinforcements at cornerback.
Walter Thurmond is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL drug policy. Brandon Browner has a pulled groin.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Winfield , 36, started every game for the Minnesota Vikings last season and had three interceptions.
"He's a really good football player," Carroll told 710 ESPN radio. "With the needs that we may have going into this game, that's a possibility. We'll figure that out when the time comes. But he's a really quality guy to bring into your team at a time like this. He's knows his way around and everybody respects the heck out of him."
