Seahawks cut Perrish Cox, promote DeShawn Shead

The Seattle Seahawks abruptly released cornerback Perrish Cox one day after he was signed following a four-game suspension for cornerback Walter Thurmond for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy.

The Seahawks cut him following his one-day stint on the roster.

They have filled the spot with DeShawn Shead

Shead was promoted from the practice squad to take over the vacancy created when Cox was released.
