Seahawks desperate for help at wide receiver

Let’s see if we can get the scorecard right when it comes to over-the-hill wide receivers and the Seattle Seahawks.

Terrell Owens will visit the team today for a tryout. This news comes on the heels of the release of Antonio Bryant. The Seahawks already have Braylon Edwards on the roster and earlier this summer they parted ways with Mike Williams.

Confused yet? What’s clear is the team has a pressing need for help at the position. The Seahawks players will be off today, according to Danny O’Neill of the Seattle Times, when the tryout takes place. Owens has financial difficulties and has badly wanted to get back in the league. He last played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010.

The 38-year-old Owens was essentially booted from the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League this spring. Owens would be a curious choice for the Seahawks if they are planning on going with a young quarterback this season.
