Seahawks fear top pass rusher Chris Clemons lost to ACL injury

While NFL observers brace for what could be bad news when it comes to the knee of Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, the Seattle Seahawks are pretty sure they’ve got a dose of their own.

The Seahawks figure to be without their top pass rusher Chris Clemons for Sunday’s game at Atlanta. Clemons, who leads with Seahawks with 11 ½ sacks, is feared to have suffered a torn ACL, according to NFL.com. He will undergo an MRI today but a stability test delivered the bad news.

Clemons’ agent Donal Henderson blamed “crappy” conditions at FedEx Field Sunday night for the injury and it’s hard to imagine the Redskins could not have done more to maintain a better playing surface.

Without Clemons, rookie first-round draft pick Bruce Irvin, who had eight sacks, will become the Seahawks’ top pass rusher.
