Seahawks say allegations against Lynch are 'bogus'

The Seattle Seahawks defended running back Marshawn Lynch as he continues to be investigated for an alleged assault and property damage case.

“While we maintain the utmost respect for the investigative process, after speaking with Marshawn, we are comfortable these accusations are bogus,” the Seahawks said in a statement.

Lynch allegedly committed assault and damaged property in Bellevue early Sunday morning with a female suspect

Police have named Lynch as a suspenct, but emphasized that there was no domestic violence or sexual assault allegations.

“The Bellevue Police Department is in the process of gathering the facts of this alleged incident, including verifying whether or not Mr. Lynch was in fact involved,” the statement read.
