Sean Lee gets six-year, $51 million contract extension from Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have rewarded starting inside linebacker Sean Lee with a six-year contract extension, according to his agent, Mike McCartney.

The deal averages $7 million annually and that number could go up to an $8.5 million yearly average if escalator clauses are triggered. It has a maximum value of $51 million, including $16.13 million in guaranteed money with a $10 million signing bonus.

Lee has made a sound recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament last season.

He recorded 58 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble last season in six starts prior to hurting his knee.

In three NFL seasons, the former Penn State standout has registered 195 tackles, seven interceptions and two forced fumbles.
