San Diego Chargers linebacker Shaun Phillips has been accused of hitting and injuring a 54-year-old woman, who has filed a lawsuit against him in excess of $10,000.
The alleged incident occurred at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas two years ago, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Phillips is already facing lawsuit where he allegedly hit a security guard in the face last year.
In both cases, Phillips wasn't charged criminally due to insufficient evidence.
Authorities in Las Vegas and San Diego declined to file charges in each case because of insufficient evidence. In April 2006, prosecutors declined to file charges in a third incident in which Phillips was arrested after an alleged altercation with a San Diego police officer.
The Las Vegas incident previously was unreported in the media. Phillips has denied the charges.
According to a police incident report, Phillips "was very cooperative and he apologized for the incident.”
Per the report, the woman, Lourdes Jaross, had a bump on her head and seemed drunk.
