Shawn Merriman is looking to regain his old Pro Bowl form.
First, the San Diego Chargers linebacker has to shed some rust.
That was his first priority during his first practice of camp.
“Full pads the first day being out at practice is tough,” Merriman told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “But these guys have been out here working for weeks, so I have a lot of work to do.”
Merriman reported to camp and signed his one-year restricted tender Friday.
“Just getting ready for football movement, reacting to the ball, exploding again,” Merriman said. “I’m just flying around, trying to get to the ball, tying to calm down my intentions a little bit.”
