Simple battery charge for William Moore after incident with woman

Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore appeared in Fulton County court this morning and was granted a $2,500 bond after being arrested and charged with simple battery Thursday.

Moore, who signed a $30 million, five-year contract with the Falcons before becoming a free agent, was expected to be released from jail shortly, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The incident reportedly involved a woman. Channel 2 in Atlanta reported Moore threw the woman’s phone to the ground and grabbed her shoulder during an altercation.

The Falcons indicated they are still gathering information on the matter.
