It didn't take Steve Slaton long to apparently become a needed part of the Miami Dolphins running game.

With the Dolphins leading rusher, Daniel Thomas, out today against the San Diego Chargers, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Slaton could find himself some playing time just three days after the Dolphins picked him up off the waiver wire from the Houston Texans.

Slaton could back up Reggie Bush, who has struggled thus far to gain yards for the winless Dolphins.

In addition to Thomas, cornerback Vontae Davis and linebacker Koa Misi are also out for Miam.
