Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and Ford Field in Detroit are considered the favorites to host the 2011 Big Ten Championship Game with the conference headed in that direction, but Soldier Field officials are very interested in making the game an outdoor affair.

Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune reports that stadium officials are keenly interested in being in the mix for such an event. Soldier Field general manager Tim LeFevour told Greenstein they are “absolutely” interested in bringing the conference title game to the shores of Lake Michigan.

“We'll take a very strong look at it and put together a proposal,” LeFevour said.

Of course, the Big Ten has yet to officially announce a conference title game but is expected to go that way after poaching Nebraska from the Big 12. The Metrodome in Minneapolis and Cleveland Browns Stadium are also believed to be possible hosts.

Personally, we like the idea of an outdoor game being played outdoors. We’ll see how it shakes out. First, the Big Ten has to create such a game for its league.

You've got to be kidding.

All Big 10 schools have better fields than that crap they call "sod."

But if it makes the Park District put in a better field, that would be great.

What? No mention of the most "storied" field (Sorry Bears Fans) in the NFL being a part of the discussion? If Soldier Field can play host to a Big 10 championship why can't Lambeau Field be a part of that discussion?
Don't get me wrong, Chicago playing host to a Big 10 Title game would be cool, but since everyone admires Green Bay for it's "college town" atmosphere, why not play there?
Maybe I'm biased (cough, cough) but I'd rather see it Green Bay or Chicago than Minneapolis or Detroit.

Soldier Field is a piece of crap. One thing we do have is a lot of hotels at a lot of price points, lots of restaurants, etc.

Bear, From what I've seen of the renovations of Soldier field, I'd hate it too. It's not a good looking building. I liked the old facade better... It was classic.
Chicago is about 3 hours from me, and as places to visit goes, I like it!
I think you nailed it when you said "One thing we do have is a lot of hotels at a lot of price points, lots of restaurants, etc." That's a lot to have...Green Bay doesn't have that, Detroit has it in the outlying suburbs, Indy is nice, and Minneapolis is like Milwaukee, a festering stinking midwestern abomination.
All of that said, If you are going to play a big college game anywhere, I would vote for Green Bay or Chicago, they are the largest stadiums That embody the spirit of the NFL and Big 10. Outdoor venues, Midwestern Cities, College-like atmosphere, etc.
I think it would be really Awesome to see the Big 10 Championship played in a different city every year, too.It would be great for fans, great for those host cities, and great for those college kids.

They are now proceeding with legal action against Jones’ companies. Behm was paralyzed below the waist and DeCamillis suffered a broken neck. Hunt didn’t suffer a career-ending injury, but with no track record in the NFL, his attorney said it’s made it far less likely for a team to give him an opportunity.

Sterling sliver jewelry, particularly bracelets, is a staple of fashionable women everywhere. This type of pandora beads is durable yet so beautiful. The versatility is outstanding; it goes with every outfit whether with jeans or with a designer gown. For instance, movie star Sandra Bullock wore a silver cuff bracelet to the 2009 MTV Movie Awards in May 2009. A silver cuff bracelet makes an audacious statement, yet it is lightweight and is flexible so that it can fit a variety of wrist sizes. Another popular type of bracelets is the silver charm bracelet. There are many shapes and designs for the charms that are attached to the bracelet.
