During his brief unemployment before rejoining the New England Patriots today, veteran outside linebacker Tully Banta-Cain was in demand.
Banta-Cain fielded interest from the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans, according to a league source.
Ultimately, Banta-Cain opted to stick with the Patriots.
It's not a stretch to expect that he'll eventually have the opportunity to sign a more lucrative long-term contract with the Patriots or another NFL franchise.
Banta-Cain has played well this year, raising his profile around the league.

He may be in demand but it's pretty clear that he only functions well in New England's defense. Two horrible years in SF proved that. As a Pats fan who has seen him play for several years, he's a nice role player and no more.
