The Buffalo Bills have released seventh-round rookie quarterback Levi Brown, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Brown had a good preseason and is expected to be added to the practice squad.

Brown was signed to a four-year deal worth roughly $1.86 million with a signing bonus of about $69,000 earlier this summer.

Brown was the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year at Troy University.

Last season, Brown passed for 4,254 yards, 23 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

For his career, Brown passed for 6,968 yards, 43 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

The 6-foot-3, 229-pounder improved his 40-yard dash to 4.82 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout after running in the 4.9 range at the NFL scouting combine.

Brown has also registered a 34 1/2 inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 20 times.
