Wide receiver/kick returner signed to restructured contract. Aaron Wilson
The Cleveland Browns have finalized a restructured contract with star wide receiver and kick returner Josh Cribbs that pays him nearly $20 million in maximum value over the next three years, a league source told National Football Post.
Cribbs received over $7 million in guaranteed money. Per a source, there are no new years added to the deal. The agreement comes after years of frustration on Cribbs’ part in terms of his contract.
He’s one of the top all-purpose players in the game with eight career kickoff returns for touchdowns, including two kickoffs of 100 yards or more in a single game. He went undrafted out of Kent State, but quickly emerged as an impact player in the return game.
Last season, Cribbs ran back a punt against the Minnesota Vikings and a kickoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also led all offensive players with 200 all-purpose yards in a win over the Steelers in December, generating 87 rushing yards out of the Wildcat formation.
He was named to the Pro Bowl for the second time and was also selected as the Browns’ Most Valuable Player.
