Veteran offensive tackle Chad Clifton is going back to the Green Bay Packers, agreeing to terms on a three-year, $20 million contract, a league source told National Football Post.

The contract includes $7.5 million in guaranteed money.

Clifton visited the Washington Redskins, but departed without getting a deal done.

Free agent offensive tackle Tony Pashos also paid a visit to Redskins Park.

I hope the Pack have structured it so we won't have to being paying or playing him when he's 36.

He's on his last legs now, I dread to think what state he'll be in after three years of getting run over by Peppers and Allen.

Should have overpaid Pickett and tagged Clifton.

Good deal for the Packers and for Clifton.
But the Packers still have to draft his replacement.

Good for Green Bay...a bit much to spend, but worth it for a good character guy who works hard and knows the team and the offense.
Good for Clifton too, gets to finish his career in GB...with a team that lets him take some practices off during the week.

Clifton has been a great - and under rated - Packer. I'm pleased we have him back as the division got tougher with the addition of Peppers and the guy Detroit signed. Now the Pack can draft a left tackle to serve as an understudy next season, and #76 can retire a Packer.

Charles Brown out of USC fits the mold of an agile, talented LT who could use a year of practice, prep and weight work before starting. Is he the guy the Pack take @ 23?

To me, this was a good signing for GB. However, Colledge can sign elsewhere if he can get a deal!

Psyche !!!

Only $7mil is guaranteed. This maybe buys them a year. Lang still needs to progress but he could be starting by seasons end

The Packers need Clifton for one year while they plan for the future. This is a strategic move; an insurance policy. When the Packers select a left tackle in the draft, he will be given every chance to play -- and take pressure off Clifton.

"Should have overpaid Pickett and tagged Clifton."

Tag Clifton? That's ignorant. The tag on OT's is $10.5 million. The guaranteed $$$ for Clifton is $7.5. Very good, team friendly signing.
