The Kansas CIty Chiefs worked out former New York Giants defensive tackle Marvin Austin, according to a league source.
Austin recently worked out for the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs also worked out guards John Malecki and Lance Louis, linebackers D.J. Smith and Alonzo Highsmith, and defensive tackles Christian Tupou and Jordan Miller.
Austin was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft out of North Carolina.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll attemped to convince Austin to attend USC when he was coaching there, but wasn't able to recruit him.
Austin was released by the Giants during the final major roster cutdown.
Austin had eight tackles last season in eight games.
He was sidelined for his rookie season with a torn pectoral muscle.
