Drew Rosenhaus hasn’t tweeted out any information on the matter, but a source with knowledge of the situation told the National Football Post said he expects Jared Odrick to hire the Miami-based agent to represent him.
Odrick originally was represented by Peter Schaffer, of Denver-based All Pro Sports & Entertainment, but cut ties with him, news first reported by Sports Business Journal.
Odrick was the first-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins. The Penn State product is expected to compete with Phillip Merling for a starting job at defensive tackle. What will happen to that competition after Merling was arrested in Broward County, Fla., on Wednesday remains to be seen. Merling was charged with a count of aggravated battery on a victim he should have known was pregnant.
The Dolphins made Odrick the 28th overall pick in the draft. Odrick’s agent switch was first reported Tuesday. A player is required to wait five days before signing with new representation. Our source said to expect Rosenhaus’ name to be announced when the waiting period is over. According to the NFLPA, Rosenhaus currently represents six Dolphins.
