The Atlanta Falcons are hiring Mike Tice as their new offensive line coach, according to a league source.

Tice was last with the Chicago Bears under former coach Lovie Smith before being replaced last year by Aaron Kromer as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach when Marc Trestman took over the job.

Tice is a former Minnesota Vikings head coach who's highly regarded in league circles for his ability to teach and develop offensive linemen.

The former NFL player went 32-33 as a head coach with the Vikings.

Before joining the Bears' staff in 2010, Tice was assistant head coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
