University of Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount ran between 4.53 and 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash at today's campus Pro Day workout, according to a source close to the program.
He weighed in at 238 pounds and was measured at 6-foot-1.
Blount is an extremely physical downhill runner who drew high marks from several NFL scouts and executives, including Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel Eric DeCosta, during the Senior Bowl week.
He rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown during the Senior Bowl game.
Blount was suspended for 10 games last season for punching a Boise State player. That incident was preceded by a previous suspension for missing team meetings during the offseason.
He was subsequently reinstated by Oregon coach Chip Kelly after the infamous punch and rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown during a win over rival Oregon State that propelled the Ducks to a Rose Bowl berth.
Blount apologized for the incident and hasn't been in any further trouble.

Personally, I don't consider character to be a deal-killer in this case. He could be a mid-round bargain for some team.
Blount has been a favorite of mine for the Bears picking him in the 5th Rd. before they got Taylor. If I'm Bears I still get him. Taylor won't be around forever & having an athletic fierce runner w/bulk & mid 4.5 speed would come in handy to finish teams off w/a 4th quarter lead,& for short yardage/goal line scenarios.
Blount is easily top 5 RB in the draft, before his incident he was projected 1st/2nd round. He will now probably go in the 4th/5th making him the best RB picked up in the draft. Blount is Huge at 6'1" 241+lbs with EXCELLENT balance and jukes as shown by his #3 time in the 3cone drill .01 behind #2 and .1 behind #1 oh and 40-50lbs heavier then those guys. CJ is only up at top cause of Chris Johnson. Jahvid Best is injury prone with "2" TWO concussions and a surgery on his elbow and a surgery on his foot. Toby Gerhart if black would be #1 in the draft. Ryan Matthews is the bomb as well...I forgot to mention Blount has 159 attempts as opposed to the rest of the field having 400-500-600+ attempts...Fresh Legs!!!
@jj, he will go way before that I think. 3rd round tops I'd say.
Bengals linebacker has not yet...
Pittsburgh was an estimated $25...
Team down to '2 or 3' finalists
Rare condition affected him in...
Report says Patriots receiver...

Every down speed? Plus experience with protections in a spread offense. He may need a lot of extra help on other issues, maybe an alpha type of coach can help that. Make it about playing football and he should do well.
