Linebackers coach would replace the fired Sheridan. National Football Post
A source close to the National Football Post has informed our own Michael Lombardi that the New York Giants have targeted New York Jets linebackers coach Bob Sutton as their top choice for the newly opened defensive coordinator position.
The Giants relieved former defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan of his duties yesterday.
Sutton was formerly the head coach at Army before his arrival in New York.
The Giants will have to wait until the end of the Jets' season before they can formally interview Sutton for the opening.
