BYU running back awaiting supplemental draft Aaron Wilson
Former Brigham Young running back Harvey Unga could go as high as the third round or fourth round during Wednesday's NFL supplemental draft, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
Under a worst-case scenario, he's not expected to go any lower than the fifth round or sixth round.
Unga has impressed NFL scouts with his size, power and hands.
The supplemental draft begins Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
Unga is the Cougars' all-time leading rusher.
Unga was dismissed from school for an honor code violation, but NFL teams have no concerns about his character.
Unga's fiancee, former BYU basketball player Keilana Moeaki, recently gave birth to a son. A wedding is set for later this week.
Unga worked out for 20 NFL teams recently.
He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.58 and 4.63 seconds.
The 6-foot-1, 245-pounder also bench pressed 225 pounds 19 times and posted a 9-6 broad jump and a 35-inch vertical leap.
At his audition for NFL scouts, a Chicago Bears scout ran the drills.
Per the Salt Lake Tribune, the Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks displayed the most interest following the workout.
Also attending the workout: the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and the Miami Dolphins.
