Dillard expected to go on injured reserve Aaron Wilson
The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted wide receiver John Matthews to the active roster from the practice squad, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
The Jaguars are expected to place wide receiver Jarett Dillard on injured reserve due to his ongoing foot problems after suffering a stress fracture during the preseason.
Matthews spent time last year on the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad and was claimed recently by the Jaguars off waivers from the Colts.
Signed as an undrafted rookie free agent after going undrafted out of the University of San Diego, Matthews was signed to the Colts' practice squad last year after being cut during the final major roster cutdown.
In four college seasons, Matthews caught 195 passes for 3,615 yards and 50 touchdowns.
As a senior, he caught 102 passes for 1,478 yards and 21 touchdowns.
