The Houston Texans brought in well-traveled former first round offensive tackle Jason Smith for a visit, according to a league source.
He recently worked out for the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, and San Francisco 49ers.
Smith is a former second overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft, selected by the St. Louis Rams.
Smith, 27, was a backup last season with the New York Jets and has been cut this year by the Jets and the New Orleans Saints.
Smith has had issues with concussions and other injuries.
He hasn't realized the potential he displayed at Baylor where he was a standout blocker.
The Texans also worked out offensive linemen Steven Baker, David Molk, Seth Olsen, Jarrod Shaw and Edwin Williams.
None were immediately signed to a contract.
