The New York Jets have siged former New England Patriots cornerback LeQuan Lewis to a two-year contract following a successful tryout, according to a source.

Lewis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds at his tryout for the Jets.

The Jets later announced the move and cut linebacker Tim Fugger who has a knee injury.

Lewis, 25, played collegiately at Arizona State.

The athletic 5-foot-11, 190-pounder has five career tackles, two pass deflections and one interception.

Lewis went undrafted out of college and has previous stints with the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears and the Patriots.

Over the past year, Lewis has worked out for several teams, including the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, San Diego Chargers, Detroit Lions and the St. Louis Rams.
