Former New Orleans Saints inside linebacker Jonathan Vilma is visiting the Atlanta Falcons, according to a league source.
The Falcons have a glaring need at linebacker since Sean Weatherspoon is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Vilma played just a dozen snaps last season before being placed on injured reserve.
Vilma had been on injured reserve-designated to return after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, which has caused him problems for years.
Since 2011, he's had four knee surgeries on his left knee.
