Small-school running back gaining interest Aaron Wilson
Southern Illinois athletic running back Deji Karim has been scheduled for visits or private workouts with the Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers, a source close to the program confirmed.
Karim has also worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles and been scheduled for a visit, per our source.
Karim registered a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash and a 43-inch vertical leap at his Pro Day workout, which would rank him first among any running back invited to the NFL scouting combine.
Karim rushed for 1,694 yards and 18 touchdowns last season and was named Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
The 5-foot-9, 209-pounder has been steadily rising on NFL teams' draft boards.
