Investigating the possibility of drafting a cornerback, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted a trio of defensive backs at team headquarters Wednesday.

The Steelers met with Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson, Alabama cornerback Kareem Jackson and University of Maryland cornerback Nolan Carroll,  an NFL source with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

Wilson, who ran a 4.42 in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day workout, is projected a first-round draft selection.

Jackson's stock is rising to the point where he's regarded as a first-round possibility.

And Carroll, a 4.39 speedster who has recovered from a broken leg, is ranked anywhere from the middle round to the latter portion of the draft.

Carroll visited the Miami Dolphins earlier this week and has also conducted a private workout for the AFC East franchise.

Carroll has already conducted private workouts with the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns.
