Source: Marvin Austin tries out for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks worked out former New York Giants defensive tackle Marvin Austin, according to a league source.

Austin recently worked out for the Detroit Lions.

Austin was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft out of North Carolina.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll attemped to convince Austin to attend USC when he was coaching there, but wasn't able to recruit him.

Austin was released by the Giants during the final major roster cutdown.

Austin had eight tackles last season in eight games.

He was sidelined for his rookie season with a torn pectoral muscle.
