Undrafted rookie linebacker beats the odds Aaron Wilson
The Baltimore Ravens have informed rookie linebacker Dannell Ellerbe that he has made the 53-man roster, according to a league source.
Ellerbe is an undrafted player from the University of Georgia who impressed the coaching staff with his range and hitting ability.
Ellerbe has been recovering from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee and isn't completely 100 percent yet.
He's expected to make a full recovery and won't require surgery.
The Ravens also retained big reserve defensive tackle Kelly Talavou, who had a strong preseason and is regarded as a lineman with a lot of potential.
Also, undrafted rookie center Robbie Felix, who overcame a stroke suffered as a senior in college to be signed by Baltimore this spring, has been released.
The Ravens have also cut wide receiver Jayson Foster, fullback Jason Cook and kicker Graham Gano.
Steve Hauschka is the new starting kicker, succeeding veteran Matt Stover after converting 5 of 6 field goals this preseason.
