TCU offensive tackle Nic Richmond will participate in a private workout for the Oakland Raiders on Monday, according to a league source.
The workout will take place in Ft. Worth, Tex. and will be conducted by Raiders offensive line coach Jim Michalczik.
The 6’8”, 322-pounder from Garland, Tex. was a three-year starter for the Horned Frogs and is currently the NFP’s 26th ranked offensive tackle prospect. Richmond’s above-average size makes him an intriguing option in the mid to later rounds.
In addition to working out for the Raiders on Monday, Richmond will also visit the Chicago Bears at the end of the month.
Here’s NFP Director of College Scouting Wes Bunting’s take on Richmond:
A massive right tackle prospect with a huge wingspan and a thick upper body but a thin-looking lower half, Richmond lacks ideal awareness off the snap and struggles to get off the ball on time. He exhibits above-average flexibility for his size and can coil up surprisingly well in his stance. But he displays long, lumbering footwork and struggles to reach the edge in the pass game and to redirect with any kind of fluidity in space. He demonstrates some natural power in the run game to seal and stick to blocks, but struggles to keep his base down and get into blocks quickly as an in-line guy. ??
Grade: 5.4

The question is not so much what OL will be taken as will we be still running the ZBS. Once that is determined there is plenty of ol help available.
If we stay with the ZBS we need the more athletic OL; if not we need to get some road graders to get this running game on track and provide time for the QB
maybe the Donkies should WIN before telling ANYONE what they want...I was always under the assumption that Monday night games are for WINNING teams...not Donkies v Faiders!

He was a big interest of ours @ combine time, continued interest is a good sign. Get these rough hewn mauler types and let Cable coach them up and play to their strengths in his scheme.
