Cut recently by the Washington Redskins, a league source confirms that veteran wide receiver Antwaan Randle El has struck a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The unrestricted free agent has reached an agreement on a three-year contract, per our source.
The deal was first reported by ESPN.
So far today, the Steelers have re-signed safety Ryan Clark and signed free agent safety Will Allen and wide receiver Arnaz Battle.
The Steelers' coaching staff was on a retreat at a ski resort over the weekend, but they have made up for lost time with today's batch of activity.
Randle El is a former Steelers second-round draft pick in the 2002 NFL draft. He played collegiately at Indiana as a quarterback.
In 2006, Randle El signed a seven-year, $31 million deal with the Redskins.
For his career, he has caught 348 passes for 4,214 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Last season, he hauled in 50 receptions for 530 yards and no touchdowns as his playing time was reduced to three starts after starting every game in 2008 and catching 53 passes and four touchdowns.
