The Pittsburgh Steelers are considering as many as six free agent quarterbacks as potential replacements for injured backup quarterback Charlie Batch, according to a league source, and one of them is veteran Jeff Garcia.

Batch is slated to undergo wrist surgery.

Another quarterback rumored to be on the Steelers' radar is Cleo Lemon.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlsberger was examined for a concussion, but appears to be okay.

The Steelers' third quarterback is former Oregon star Dennis Dixon.

Per our source, the Steelers are expected to conduct a Tuesday tryout as they examine their options with Batch sidelined.

If they are going to make a trade, call Tampa Bay and see if Leftwich is available. Is he even active on game days anymore for the Bucs?

Also, I know he's been out of football for 2 years, but Kelly Holcomb and Bruce Arians go way back. If Pittsburgh decides on Dixon to start while Roethlisberger is recovering a week or two with his concussion, maybe Holcomb could pull a Vinny Testeverde and just show up and know the system enough to backup.

Note, as a Steelers fan, if Roethlisberger get's medical clearance and plays, we should just save the money and go forward this year with Ben and Dixon. That's enough in my opinion. I mean, why else draft Dixon and carry him on the roster for 18 months if he can't play in a pinch?

Agree with the trade, but not for Dereck Anderson...get Cribbs. And agree that if Ben is healthy, just go with 2 guys. That's why we have Dixon. Worst case, if both Ben and Dixon are down, we could put Hines back there and run a wildcat. If it comes to that, I say we also put James Harrison in the backfield to block. And then when we get inside the 10, give the ball the Casey Hampton ala Fridge. HOW DO WE LOSE TO THE CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't matter. We are going nowhere fast. The special teams coach is still employed. That should tell you enough. We are faced with an overconfident team who thinks that because they are the champs, they will win just by showing up. Effort is lacking all around. Tomlin is starting to sound like Obama with his useless rhetoric.

Jeff Garica is a perfect fit for the underdog Steelers, remember when he led the 5-6 Eagles to the NFC Championship Game.

Start Dixon, it's so obvious. Anybody else brought in should just be his backup, because he's been learning the system since last year. Dixon is more elusive than Roethlisberger.
