USC tight end Xavier Grimble has met with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers, according to a league source.

Grimble is graded as a middle-round draft target. He had 11 career touchdowns for the Trojans.

Grimble had a shoulder injury last season.

Grimble caught 25 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns last season.

He was an honorable-mention All-Pac-12 selection in 2012 when he caught a career-high 29 passes for 316 yards and five touchdowns.

Grimble is coming off a calf injury that limited him at the NFL scouting combine, but participated fully in his campus Pro Day workout. Grimble didn't run a great 40-yard dash, clocking a 4.90, but had a 30.5-inch vertical leap. He had a 9-5 broad jump at the combine.
