As our own Michael Lombardi wrote this morning, the Pittsbugh Steelers are expected to make some changes to their offensive coaching staff this off-season.

According to sources close to Lombardi, "there is unhappiness with the lack of commitment to the run game, along with a sense of leadership coming from the offensive side. Too many players have their own agendas and not enough of a team concept. There’s a problem among the players, and the Hines Ward/Ben Roethlisberger problem has not gone away despite the Ward apology."

Pittsburgh is coming off of a 13-6 loss to Cleveland on Thursday night that essentially knocked them out of playoff contention, and have dropped five straight games.

No mistaking it on Thursday night, the Steelers inability ro run the ball and to defend the run cost them the game and more accurately, the season. The Steelers formula for success has always been a run first philosophy. It got them two Super Bowls but now they have lost their identity.

Change is not only necessary but overdue.
